Co Ax to HDMI?

I have sky box with tv attached. Two other tv's in bedrooms connected by co ax & Magic eyes but sky reception dreadful. Ran HDMI cables from these tv's hoping to connect directly to skybox and improve things . Ran into problem in that due to location of sky box, unable to get the cables to it without major rooting! Have cables to within 6 ft but that's all. Suggested options,1. second sky box in attic connected by the hdmi's to both bedroom tv's - don't fancy the 15€/month & 249€ quoted for box- 2.free to air box connected same way.
I just wondered as an alternative,if there was any advantage in joining the short bit of coax from skybox to the new HDMI cable running down the house. Would signal be improved at all or would that be no better than co ax the whole way?
I'd appreciate any advice / suggestions. Thanks.

HDMI to co-ax would be worse than what the SKY box is already giving out. You need a box to do it and it's a bodge at best.

You could try using the co-ax for composite from the SCART cable. It's the yellow output. But no sound , but you'd see how bad the co-ax is.

If you can get within 6 feet you could try a video sender but they tend to be a wee bit crappy at the best of times.

Try better co-ax if that's an option - shielded stuff. Try a different channel in case of interference - lower channels might work better on bad cable.

If you have sky and broadband you could do the web thingy and some sort of smart TV / chromecast / NowTV ??

/me *hugs* freesat box that allows streaming and downloading of recordings via wifi router.

I'm on a 4G internet connection, so have expensive bandwidth.
There are solutions that don't need the internet, but just your internal network.

I'm using a wetek play openelec box with the satellite cable to receive channels.
I can then retransmit them through the house over wifi or ethernet.
Have an Amazon FireTV stick running KODI as a receiver in one room,
and a raspberry pi 2 on another. HD reception in each case.
As a bonus, I can use a phone, tablet or ipad as a TV if there's a tuner free.
