This is being shown on RTE2. From general reviews, supposed to be an interesting show set in the 1980s: Cold war themed.

Is anyone watching this show? It's really good, and a good insight into the cold war which I don't know a whole lot about.

I am. Was a teen in Germany during that time and went to a lot of demonstrations, like the human chain.
Brings back a lot of memories! Have to say that he subtitles are pretty good. Not always a given, unfortunately.

Is it an accurate portrayal of the period? It's not often you see a series based on recent history, it's usually set today or in the distant past.

Any chance of moving this thread to the TV forum?

Already a thread in the TV forum with loads of spoilers, as the show was aired elsewhere months ago.
It is a very accurate portrayal.
    Excellent series.

As it is a German series with English subtitles it deserves a second home here

Yepp, enjoying this very much myself even though it is pretty embarassing (and giving away my age) that I can sing along to all the music without thinking :D

    Yes, certainly.

A great show and love the music too. Very apt at times.

Saw it over the summer. First German language TV series with English subtitles to be broadcast in the States seemingly. Was a few months before Germany too (think they finished last month).
