I wouldn't touch it, it would be high in comparison to a normal car and doesn't look to be balanced that well.

It would struggle to pull it empty, another classic men's shed production.

Better with a regular builders style trailer, even a decent single axle standard style trailer would be so Much better than that.

    Is that reggies old trailer?

1.5 car should be fine with a reasonable trailer and a tonne in it. Driven responsibily it would be grand.

You might want to research this. Does that trailer have brakes? You are only allowed AFAIK 3.5 tonne car and trailer combined unless you have a car and trailer licence with which you must use a CE marked, suitably load rated, braked trailer and seeing as the hitch on that trailer is the old type not sold by any trailer suppliers id say if you are pulling a tonne of meal in it then you would be attracting the cops attention. Also forgot to mention that you need a safety brake (steel wire from trailer brake lever to car in case trailer becomes decoupled) saw a post on the Garda Twitter feed a couple of weeks ago where they caught a lad without that and a few more things and he was going to get done over it

The plate that the hitch is attached to looks like it is very short under the drawbar, Second - the drawbar has no bracing, it looks like it would flex under lad and on a bend, that happening with an already high load is a disaster. You'd be better getting a different trailer

Stay away from it. A double axel low set 8x4 trailer is what's needed and should be got for around the same money. That thing is pure scrap painted up.

That's exactly the sort of thing that caused the trailer legislation to be updated.

You'd get a proper factory made 8x4 for just a bit more than that.
    Wouldn't touch that one

Any recommendations on an 8x4 trailer with mesh sides. Will go factory made, is there much variation in price?

Located in Tipp but would travel.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I'd a bit of business in with Peter Hosey during the summer. He sells Tuff Mac trailers. He'd a nice selection of small builders trailers there when I called.

Note. I've no allegiance or connection to him in any way. We bought a trailer off him and are happy with it!

Not a clue about the price I'm afraid. You may ring him!

I had a bad experience with that man last year while looking for a new tractor trailer

Was going to buy a tuffmac before I got the Donnelly but everytime I rang him the price was higher and in the end a smaller tuffmac trailer was €2000 more than what I ended up paying.

4 tonne meal bin would be half the price of a new trailer and ration would be 40€ a tonne cheaper thereafter..

    Indeed.
But if ya want to move something else the bin would be no use.
