Mazda 6 = Ford engine??

    anyone know
    does the current Mazda6 diesel automatics use a Ford engine ??

    No Mazda 6 diesel ever used a Ford engine. They always used their own Mazda engine.

    The current Mazda 6 has no connection to Ford, everything is in-house developed. Mazda and Ford have little ties these days. Also the diesel 6 is 2.2 litre while Ford's is 2.0 litre.

    They might have been better off using a Ford diesel engine though given Mazda's track record with making diesel engines.
