I was caught drinking at 16, and was brought into the station a week or 2 later to talk to the liaison officer, he was really sound about it and just explained the dangers ☺️ I'm starting a new job and need a Garda clearing, I'm nearly 20 years old and just wondering will this be brought up ☺️

I'm fairly sure that Garda vetting deals only with past convictions, and not with events where a Garda simply cautioned you for your behaviour.

Did the Gardaí give you a record or was it just a caution? If it's just a caution, I wouldn't worry about it.

If it was as you describe you have absolutely nothing to worry about.

Good luck with the new job.

It won't come up. It brings up convictions, prosecutions and cases pending so a teenage caution definitely won't show up.

    long forgotten i'd say.
and tbh, if every person going for the gardai, or any job for that matter, had a completely blameless, perfect teenage experience, the list of candidates would be pretty short:)
    best of luck

Even convictions in court of those under 18 are not disclosable as an adult. JLO's most definitely aren't either. You've nothing to worry about

    This is not true.

If at 16 or 17 a person was convicted of a sexual assault, that most certainly would be disclosed by Garda getting at 18!

You weren't convicted of anything, OP, so you have nothing to worry about.
