Hi John, thanks for getting in touch.

If you’re drawing down your mortgage in stages for a self-build the 2% cashback will be paid after the final stage drawdown. To qualify for the offer and the final drawdown must be made within 18 months of the first drawdown.

For our 2% Cashback offer the first drawdown needs to be made between 1st October 2016 and 31st March 2017 to qualify for the offer. For our Cashback Plus offer the first drawdown needs to be made between 5th September 2016 and 31st March 2017 to qualify.

The T&C's for our 2% Cashback offer are available here and for our Cashback Plus offer here

I hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions, thanks.

Nicola

Hello

I was in one of your branches two weeks ago asking about mortgages and the staff mentioned that the 2% Mortgage Cashback offer had been extended. Looking at the leaflet for the offer after I left I noticed that it is says that it ends 31 March 2017. Did she mean that it had been extended in the past until the 31 March 2017 or that it has been extended again, i.e. extended past the 31 March 2017 date on the leaflet?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

My wife and I are looking to switch mortgage and are interested in this deal. Over the past 6 months I have lodged €190 into a betting account which I use for minimum bet allowable so I can watch the races, I have taken €350 back out in the same period.

We have had our current mortgage for 18 months and never missed a payment and I had a mortgage for 12 years before this house and never missed a payment.

Is the online betting still an issue as it's not huge money and we don't play the lotto like loads of other people who get mortgages.

Thanks.

Hello,

I've read on the Money Guide Ireland website (link below) that when the CashBack / CashBack Plus offer was initially launched in 2015 it had a clause that "required a replayment of the cashback if the customer moved the mortgage within 5 years". However, that no longer appears to be the case, according to the same article.

http://www.moneyguideireland.com/1-cashback-with-bank-of-ireland-mortgages.html

Can you confirm if this is accurate as I cannot find anything related to moving banks after the drawdown in the Cashback / Cashback Plus Terms & Conditions on your website.

If a newly drawn down mortgage was moved to another lender, having already availed of the 2% cashback, how would this affect the mortgage? Would the 2% have to be repaid back / be added back onto the mortgage before its moved or not?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

My partner and I are in the process of buying our new build house and are shopping around for mortgages. We are first time buyers and have already been approved for a mortgage.

My question is this; with the 2% + 1% cash back offer, if we switch mortgage providers after 1 or 2 years, depending on the term we decide on, I know we will miss out on the 1%, however would we get to keep the 2%?

Thanks

Hi,

I see this offer is due to finish on the 31st of November 2017. If I were to get a mortgage now chances are that this offer would have finished before I was in a position to draw down the mortgage and therefore I could not avail of the offer. Are there any plans to extend this offer?

Hello, I am an existing BOI mortgage customer. We took out our mortgage in 2013 before any cashback offer existed. We are currently looking at applying for an equity release of about 50k. On the BOI site it says the following ...
• When you release equity in your home we'll give you 2% of your new mortgage back as Cashback.

Assuming our application is approved, what figure does the 2% cashback offer apply to? I presume it is the equity release figure of 50k, however I would consider my 'new mortgage' to be my old mortgage plus the ER figure which in my case would be approx 290k. Obviously there is a massive difference if the cashback applied to the 290k figure. Can you clarify which it would apply to please?

Hi Det Somerset,

Thanks for your post.

I'm just checking this out for you and I'll get back to you here as soon as I have an answer.

Thanks,

Hi Det Somerset,

Thanks for your patience.

Equity release is a stand-alone mortgage with its own offer letter, t&c's and account number and it's the new borrowing amount that would be eligible for the 2% Cashback.

If you'd like us to arrange a call from a mortgage specialist, please let us know.

Thanks
Tara

Hi,

I see from your website that  your cashback plus offer is now due to end on the 30th of June 2018, can you confirm that this is now extended?

Also, our mortgage offer was made in July 2017 and will expire in January 2018, at this stage we are waiting for our new house to be completed and it will be touch and go whether it will be complete in January. Is it possible to extend our current offer or will we have to make a new application if the offers runs out?

Thanks,

• Closed Accounts Posts: 2,346 ✭✭✭Bank of Ireland: Tara

Hi Min89,

Thanks for getting in touch and sorry for the delay.

Yes, the offer has been extended until 30th June 2018. Once the offer has expired, the application will need to be reviewed again for any changes in your circumstances.

Thanks
Tara

Hi,

I just wanted to ask if there is any news on whether the 3% cashback offer is going to be extended beyond June 30th 2018.

My wife and I have mortgage approval with BOI and have gone sale agreed on a property but things aren't moving very quickly so I am not sure if we will have drawn down before the offer expires.

Any info you can provide on this would be great.

Thanks

Hi, I’m currently waiting on my house to be finished being built, it’s due to be finished July 2018, I’ve opened a BOI current account with the understanding we would get 2% back writhing 45 days of drawing down and a further 1% in 5 years, I’m only now hearing that the offer is only valid until June 2018, is there any suggestion this offer might be extended? I find it unfair to be let to believe we would get the 2% back after telling the bank all the details , thank you

Hi Aaron15,

Thanks for your post.

We're sorry to hear that you were unaware that this Cashback offer was ending in June 2018. If you are on a self build mortgage you can qualify for the Cashback offer once the first draw down is made between 5th September 2016 and 30th June 2018, and that you meet the other terms and conditions of the offer. Please see these terms and conditions on our website here.

We would advise you to contact your Mortgage Specialist directly to clarify your specific Mortgage offer and they will be happy to help you.

Thanks,
Sarah
