It does now that I look at them both...

Wonder would this Sekonda suffer from de chroming itself like some other cheap watches do with constant rubbing against skin/clothing. Happened with me on a cheap Accurist I use to own. No idea to be honest what fit and finish is like on Sekondas.

It's very much a hommage to the Pan-Europ and not a bad one at that. The vendor's website says the case is stainless steel whereas the Sekonda website refers to a "Tonneau chrome-coloured case" which is much more ambiguous - though it does state that the bracelet is stainless steel.

I think the only way of being sure is to drop a query on the Sekonda website and hope that they have somebody intelligent enough at the other end who both understands the question and can answer it honestly.

Does it look like the Hamilton Pan Europ style? I didn't know, so looked it up to see what that style looks like, and it appears quite different? If anything I thought the Pan Europ style watches I saw images of looked very much like some Vostok watch designs? then again maybe they modeled some of their designs after that Pan Europ style? I'm very far from being an expert, but the similarities between this and the mentioned style seem very slight.

That said, it looks interesting in different looking way, think I'd like the indication of the day on it myself, dont know if thats tantamount to blaspheming HPE?

I'm getting a hankering for buying a watch I think looks nice, even though I shouldn't.

I'll email Vendor and ask what exactly is the case material. If its all stainless steal I guess for €60 I'd wear it no problem and customise it with a NATO. I just find the watch aesthetically pleasing for small money.

This Sekonda looks almost exactly like this Tag Heuer.. Even the bracelet is almost identical.

There's a few variations of the Pan Europ. This is the one I had in mind.

I have this watch. I bought it last year in Amazon's Boxing Day sales.

It was £27.99 so around €34 back then. When I saw it I immediately thought of the Hamilton Pan Europ.

It's base metal with a stainless steel cas back. The bracelet is beyond awful and was replace almost immediately. The end link of the bracelet had also scratch the plating between the lugs and under them

It looks like copper under the plating.

I have it on leather and NATO.

For the price I payed for it, it's a nice enough beater.

Has the chrome plating rubbed away on any parts of the casing other then getting scratched? I'm trying to gage if its junk or not. Does Look nice on the NATO though.

    No, nothing has rubbed off.
