Amazon sellers account

Long story short. I set up an Amazons sellers account a few months back and I never actually used it or put anything up for sale on it. About a month ago I received a charge of £30.75 to my credit card from Amazon sellers service. For the past month I have been trying to find out from Amazon what the charge is for and get a refund for it. It took them two weeks to tell me that it was because my account is a professional account which incurs a monthly charge of £30.75 (you get a 3 month free trial of the professional service hence why it was a few months before I was charged). Amazon are being difficult and not refunding me the full amount. They said they were going to refund me but then they refunded me the incorrect amount and with the difference in exchange rates I'm down a few euro. I know it's not a lot but it's the principle of the matter. They never told me they were even going to be charging me for this so why should I be the one who loses out exchange rate or not.

I actually went on Amazon the other night and set up a brand new account and went through the process of setting up a sellers account. During the sign up process you are automatically signed up to a professional account. It doesn't tell you that you're getting this as a free trial or that the professional account incurs a monthly charge. It doesn't tell you that you have an option of an individual account which is free.

If it was something in small print that I had missed or forgot to untick I'd be pissed but mainly at myself for missing it. The fact that they hide the whole thing and don't mention the charge at all has me really annoyed though. Surely they can't just sign you up for something like that without your agreement. Is there anything I can do to get a refund? Any organisation or government body I can submit a complaint to?

Have you tried again with Amazon or was it just the once? Email or phone support?

They are usually very good at understanding when a problem happens and refund straight away. If you haven't used any of the services I cant see why they wouldn't out of goodwill

I've been through to all three. I'm still talking to them via the case ticket system on their website.

In my (albeit limited experience) Amazon customer support and seller support are the exact opposite. The former are excellent and put pretty much every other company to shame. I'd buy something from Amazon even if it was a bit more expensive than elsewhere because they're usually top notch if something goes wrong. The seller support is abysmal and I'm actually shocked it's been this much hassle.
