Stiff gear changes

    on my mk1 05 tddi connect the gear changes are pretty stiff all the time, i looked it up and seen you can take out the selector from the gearbox and clean and oil it up again which is ment to help?

    Im also going to change the oil in it, its prob well due a change and it can only help id say

    i have a mk1 focus which is as smooth changing the gears on and was wondering if the selector from that would fit the connect? tks

    Dissconnect the cables from the box and see is it the lever that is tight a bit of silicone spray will sort it if it is.

    Yeah ill do this first at the weekend and if no diff ill have to pull on the selector i seen online some of them work better after a good clean and freshly oiled so will see

    Could you explain this procedure in detail, and is it same for Skoda Octavia?
