Radio Memory - Battery Isolator

    Hi,

Is there any type of radio that has a memory that does not require power at all times?

Have an isolator switch on the tractor battery and unfortunately it also clears the radio memory.
Switch is on the -ve pole of the battery. I have tried to run a dedicated earth to the radio in order to bypass the switch however this does not work, as when the isolator switch is off, this little earth wire then is earthing the whole tractor due to the current flowing through the frame of the radio itself.

    Any thoughts.....??

Put the isolator switch on the positive pole of battery and run a small wire from + pole to radio to keep memory.
    That's what I did anyway.

think most blaupunkt radios will store the stations (not the cheapest to buy tho), have one fitted in tractor with isolator switch and no separate feed to the radio, it does revert to 87.4 or something every time you turn it on, but once you hit any of the pre-set stations they are there. come to think of it have a JVC in another tractor and it also stores the stations when battery is disconnected, even for days at a time
