Buying from sportspursuit....

    Anyone used it?
I am trying for the first time, and its impossible to use a parcel motel address to avail of cheaper shipping, without switching the account to be a UK one, which means trading in GBP and getting killed on the exchange rate.
Anyone experienced this or found a solution?

Always bought via Paypal, still found them good. Try pricerunner.co.uk to compare their prices.

You mean you use paypal to pay on sportspursuit?

Ive used them although not for cycling gear. I think the delivery is around €8, so generally would only buy from them if I had several things I want.

You should note that each thing you buy from them has a date for dispatch, usually several weeks ahead as they are a group buyer site rather than a retailer and therefore don't carry any stock. The sale of any particular item lasts for a period of time and then they purchase the group order and dispatch them out.
This also means that if you buy more than one item they will often arrive separately, although the delivery price does not change.

used multiple times, always been happy. one caution, due to the delivery timing already described, if using for xmas pressies, make sure it will ship in time. last year i ordered something for myself which i didn't care if i got in time for xmas. however when i ordered i was informed i'd ordered in time for guaranteed xmas delivery. never arrived. at all. sportspursuit made good 100% on the order, but i'd be careful about ordering important pressies off them

by the way, i don't blame them, a shipment from planet x didn't arrive either. in fact the replacement shipment from planet x didn't arrive either. the sportspursuit one did.

They also change the estimated shipping date from time to time possibly due to how quickly stuff sell, I've had one order brought forward and one pushed back to a later date

    Cheers lads.
Seems a bit ****e tho, that we Irish customers cant avail of parcel motel to save on delivery.

But you can if you pay in sterling right? You're already being hammered on the exchange paying in Euro on the site. They have the exchange at 1.48 or thereabouts, whereas its really around 1.425 or thereabouts. As with Amazon, they mark it up for whatever reason. Charges etc. You might actually save money paying in sterling

Id seriously doubt that given that your bank will perform another exchange rate conversion when processing the payment.

Doubt away, my personal experience would say otherwise. I always pay for stuff on Amazon in GBP as it has always converted marginally cheaper at the very least than it does when paying in Euro

I will have to try that out :D

I'd always check the price elsewhere as well sometimes there deals are not actually that good (mark up t mark down etc)
