Jaytee Dutch and Ballymac Honey were expected to be the stars of Saturday's outstanding programme at Shelbourne Park and they duly obliged - but in totally contrasting fashion.

Paul Hennessy's Jaytee Dutch was the hottest favourite of the night as he went off at 1/3 to win Heat 4 of the Comerford Cakes Open and he lived up to the rating.

Displaying his appreciation for his inside berth, Jaytee flew out and was three lengths in front of Proud Graham into the back.

Proud Graham reduced the margin slightly by the third bend but Jaytee then switched on the turbo and raced away to win by four and a half lengths in 28.15.

After missing the break Razldazl Rince ran on well to be a two and a half length third.

It was also a good night for trainer Owen McKenna who enjoyed a smashing double. First up was Farloe Joey which gave a great display in winning the first heat where he came from three lengths behind Creamery Bale entering the back straight and went on to win by three and a half in 28.39.

The double came up when Aayamza Seve came from lengths down on Scary Days to win by a length in 28.69.

The other heat winners were Maglass Razzle in 28.72, Milldean Puma in 28.76 and Borna Sounds in 28.84.

Back to Ballydoyle Honey, which produced an amazing effort in the fourth heat of the Gain Christmas Oaks. She went off at 2/5 but you would have traded at very generous odds when she was forced to check back in fourth place at halfway.

But then, as she turned for home, she suddenly went into overdrive and got up to win by a neck from Dromscarra Ruby in 28.68, with Orange Theresa three parts of a length third.

It was the third leg of a hat-trick for Holland in the Oaks heats.

Skywalker Pearl flew from traps to win Heat 2 by two lengths from Follys View in 28.46, while Rural Maui led all the way when beating Jeanettedollemma by a length in 28.60 in Heat 3.

The other heat winners were Droopys Aurora in 28.84, High St Jesse in 28.42 and Got The Edge in 28.69.
