Looking for an XL road frame. I'm 192cm (6'4").
cheap and cheerful, for commuting. budget around €150.
park it in town in moderate security areas so ideally nothing too snazzy but will consider anything at the right price.
South Dublin/ city centre/ North Wicklow ideally +/-midlands
old one gave up after aprox 30,000km

I have the 52cm size of this one I sold a few years back so it's probably too small for you! It's the same geometry as the Planet X Pro Carbon Large and they suggest fits 5'10" to 6'2". It's not strictly a road frame as it has clearance for 28c tyres and full mudguards but makes a great commuter. A mate of mine might have something I'll check him out.

I have an old reynolds 531 frame size 58 that i mistakenly bought on ebay a few years back. It has been sand blasted and resprayed and nothing else done to it. If interested, I can take a few pics and put them up. Be looking for 100 euro for it.

No the head tube is 1 inch, it does have bsa threadwhich would take a gxp bottom bracket, it would have originally had a 5 speed block i think, so may not take a 10 speed. I'm based in Kerry. So probably not of much use to you. Its probably more suitable for a retro rebuild tbh.

Hi BSB, is your 531 frame race geometry or more relaxed?

I would be interested if it could take 28mm tyres.

A mate of mine might have something I'll check him out.

He has this frameset in a pretty large size (need to check exactly). He bought it back in the day and stripped it down so the frame has had little use. It's a decent enough frame with carbon fork but it does suffer from an image problem:). Let me know if you might be interested and I'll get more info.

That sounds ideal Paul. I assume the asking price would take into account the time I would have to spend taking every last shred of paint off it!
I could always cover it with hi vis stickers.
    Let me know please.

Still trying to get more info on this. This frame only came in 3 sizes - 53, 57 and 60cm and I'm sure this is a 60cm (suitable for 6'1" and above). Still don't know how much he wants for it!
