Thinking of switching from Canon to Nikon

    Hi folks

I have a Canon 700d but am looking to make the jump to full frame and have been doing a bit of research. I had my heart set on a Canon 5d mK3 but seemingly the dynamic range on the Nikon 750d is much better, which would suit me as i intend shooting indoor events and in low light.

I haven't invested much in Canon lenses, just have the 18-55 kit, the 10-18 and the nifty fifty, so switching brands wouldn't make that much difference financially.

Anyone out there switched from Canon to Nikon and noticed an improvement in low light shooting, or not? I don't like boosting the ISO too much, so inbuilt increased dynamic range could be a real boon.

I've moved from Canon 600D to Nikon D750 when it came out. Only had one red ring so it was not a big deal to move. For me difference was incredible. But part of that is jump to full frame.

Friend of mine has Canon 5D Mk3 and for low light Nikon D750 is much better. I find that Canon 5D Mk3 has much more noise in shadows then Nikon D750.

But that's now. Its neverending chase, i'm sure when Canon 5D Mk4 comes out it will beat Nikon D750 and D810. .. until Nikon D900 comes out , lol

Dynamic range is more important for landscape photography then indoor photography . For indoor photography you just need fast lense - something like Sigma f1.4 Art., and 5dmk3 is more than capable delivering amazing results.

Thanks FF. The more I read (this, for example) , the more I'm inclined to go for the d750. Have used Canon since about 1998 so it feels weird!

Also have my eye on the 35mm f1.4 Art. Just need to get the finances sorted now.

lol, that is the same article that made me seriously consider D750. :)
If you do go for it make sure you get really good lenses, 35mm f1.4 Art is incredible.
Yeah i know what you mean about weird. I still find putting lense "wrong way" just not right. Mind you, buttons layout on Nikon i prefer more now, to me it makes more logical sense.
My 600D is still alive and in use. Lifespan extended with Magic Lantern! :)
