Been asked many times over the years but in todays times has anyone found a quiet boiling or rapid boil kettle, that really does what it says on the tin.

I found this, good reviews mainly and reasonable price.

Bought this a few weeks ago, very quick to boil and fairly quiet... for under €30.

Plastic ones tend to be quieter. Also lime scale makes them noisier.

Russell Hobbs have a kettle (named Buckingham) that has a thing on the base to supposedly make it much quieter.

thanks all for your suggestions, after a lot of research and reading reviews I went with this, http://www.argos.ie/static/Product/partNumber/1584714/c_1/1|category_root|Kitchen+and+laundry|14418476/c_2/3|cat_19780844|Kettles|14418611.htm

There were no reviews on the irish site which made be suspicious but got reviews for it on argos uk.

Have to say I'm very pleased with it, boils a full kettle in just over 3mins and is very quiet compared to other kettles I had. Its very smooth, swivels easily round on its base and also it goes back on its base very easily. Even the lid opens n closes smoothly. Its hard to believe that it only cost just over 17 yo yos.

Must keep it clean of limescale as I overlooked this in the past, I just thought it was just natural staining until I saw some floaters in it one day.

It will get Lemon Juiced regularly from now on.:D

Don't see anywhere on the Argos listing that its a quiet kettle .but best of luck with it cos a noisy one can be annoying .

I find that if the kettle is only half-full or less it makes more noise , and I also find that if there is less noise of boiling cold water from scratch.

No nothing there, but some of the reviews said it was and so far I''m very impressed.
