In case people have not seen this:

Findmypast and Genes Reunited have “Black Friday” offers, 50% off their standard subscription prices.

Ancestry has 30% off membership and autosomal DNA test.

Ancestry is particularly annoying as in the US the DNA test offer price is $69 (converts to €65) with free shipping yet for UK/Ireland they charge Stg£69 and Stg£20 shipping = £89 or €126, almost double the price.

    Shame on you Ancestry!

Findmypast are doing something similar with a 75% discount in the US and only a 50% discount in Ireland and Britain.
Unlike the ancestrydna discrepancy, there's a way around the findmypast discount if you want the full 75%. Perfectly legit. I did it. It was explained on Irish Genealogy News on Wednesday. (I can't post an url.)

The Irish Newspaper Archive has a half price offer currently. I was a subscriber and have again subscribed as it is great value at the discounted annual price of €74.50

Me too on the INA - I went for the gold sub this time to see what the radical papers might offer, and some I can read premium content in the current newspapers.

Excellent. My annual sub will be due for renewal in the coming days so thanks for the heads up.

These sites are hurting themselves by charging more to people in Ireland etc. What is valuable to me in the US is finding DNA connections in Ireland to help me locate my various places of origin. The more Irish who take the test, the better my chances of finding those places. A distant cousin in Kilfinane, Co Limerick is a lot more useful to my research than one in Los Angeles. I vote for free tests for everyone in Ireland!

I've a better idea. I've been wanting to do this for a while but cost is always an issue. I'll be your distant cousin for a week and you pay for my test 🤣
