Factory prices quoted in the journal

I see every week it gives a list of the different factories around and a price for cattle that was "quoted or paid to Ifa members". I'll just take dunbia as it's first on the list this week. Steers 390/395. Heifers 400/405. Do ye find it hard to get the higher quote? I always get quoted the lower one and try and ask for more. I often say to the agent that according to the paper you are paying five cent more, and all he ever says is paper never refuses ink.
    What's your experience with them?

Often wondered that myself. You would expect them to quote the easily attained price not higher quotes that only lad's with very big numbers can get.

I'd say all most of them Ifj quotes are including the qa bonus.

Yea it is misleading, but it'd be right, be very easy for IFJ to be accused of talking down prices. Your agent doesn't deny it either

The big table included all bonuses etc but there is a little table, usually in top left thst just quotes the base price.
So I'm not alone in just getting the lower price? What would be considered big numbers of cattle I wonder?
