Hello chaps. Just a quick one. I'm looking at buying a new bus this week or next. I've settled (I think) on a 2012 R line TDI 1.6. Its in perfect condition, from a main dealer with a year warranty. Cost is 18000 with about 80k km on the clock. Do any more knowledgeable heads than me think that the price is ok? I'd really appreciate any feedback

    Cheers

    DK

That's mad money for a soon to be 5 year old Golf. It would be worth shopping around some more. Are you financing? You'd probably get a new trendline Golf with the tech and sport pack (similar if not better than the one you're looking at) which would be very similar monthly I'd imagine if you are given the deals VW have at the moment.

Here is a year younger newer model for less:

You need to shop around to know if your getting value.

Thanks lads. Is there much difference between the various lines, r line trend line etc? It's hard to tell if the upgrades are worth it

    Trendline is the base model,
Comfortline is the next model up,
R-Line is based on the Comfortline but with a body kit and some other extras.
Highline is highest spec in the regular Golf.

The car you are looking at is the Mk6 Golf, the one I linked is the newer Mk7 Golf for similar money..
