Is the colour of cattle important?

Was just watching that, of course the colour is important in shows, it shouldn't be, but it is. Think the black & white animals look atrocious when the black soap runs into the white though. Few years back at a really sunny outdoor show, there was ruby red shorthorn cross animal with glitter hairspray on it, that certainly caught the eye!

Sure it's also seen in the ring- compare to identical animals, one a mousey grey, one a golden ch. They won't be the same price, that's for sure.
It must be just the angle of the photos but the dyed animal looks to have a far leaner kidney and more length.
