The story of a Backwards man having to spend fifteen hours holed up in a hotel in the Airside Retail Park.

Seriously big smoke folks, what's so great about this city life? I'm here, I've had a few beers, I've had my dinner, and now I'm lying in bed watching the Six-One News.

    What am I missing?

    Everything outside your hotel room.

Well for a start staying in either of the hotels in Airside was a bad move.

The shops are all open late, go have a browse

I'll meet you in town if you get the bus in and we can inject some big city heroin.

Swords is closer to the north than it is Dublin city.

I've been in them all, even the golf shop.

Shops are so much better in Donegal, you can talk about the weather and compare funerals you've been to. Everything here is so clinical.

If you up to the Pavilions shopping centre there is a shop that sells all sorts of gadgets and ****e , you should be able to get yourself a laser pointer pen thing.

Go back to your hotel and shine the laser pen thing at aircraft coming into the airport.

Should keep you , the hotel staff , local Garda and air traffic control occupied for a bit.

Had a nosy round outside it earlier on, I'm a bit like the Texan tourist here, but when you have places like Kelly's in Portrush and the Pulse in Letterkenny it's a bit meh. For one thing the chip vans are kept out in the car park at home :p

Get the 41 towards town and get off at Whitehall and head for the Beaumont House.

I'll be the nordie propping up the bar.

The only purpose Swords serves is to prevent boring settled Dublin folk from invading the rest of the country. Ya horse down a bland, generic, pasteurised homogenised town from blueprints you bought off the EU, fill it up with services (Dubs love services and won't stray too far from them), couple of British McPubs if you can, and bobs yer uncle! No Swords people on my doorstep.

The real benefit of swords, OP, is the fact that there are now less closed minded pricks living beside you complaining that they don't like the smell of your turf or the sound of your tractor.
