We've had a Thrustmaster wheel a couple of years now, and it has been good. Had a cable problem early on, but they gave me a new as warranty. http://www.pixmania.ie/joystick-and-gamepad/thrustmaster-ferrari-458-italia-racing-wheel-xbox360-pc/11544896-a.html

I built a gaming seat for it, using a real rally car seat, on an alloy frame.

I just need to finish one for myself, using the Fanatec wheel..... https://galwaytt.smugmug.com/Other/Misc-pics/i-snbxmSw/0/M/DSC_0428-M.jpg

We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

Are they still selling the G27? The G29 should have replaced it by now.

Seeing as it's for a young lad playing euro truck simulator a second hand logitech G27 would be the best value option. New it's €300 plus. If they do buy new it's probably worth looking at the new model the G29.

There are cheaper wheels out there but they're generally not great. The G27 has everything he'll need to get driving. Some other kits might not have pedals, gear stick, some don't even come with a steering wheel as standard.
