    Hi Folks,

Looking for a road trip over the New Years so examining options. I'm fairly well travelled in Ireland but alas have never been to West Cork. So far my start point is Mizen Head / Bantry area, but I'm looking for something to span a day or two. Any nice boutique hotels worth staying in? Preferably off the beaten path. The more scenic the drive, the better (And I know that time of year isn't exactly ideal but no matter!)

    Thanks!

Base yourself anywhere on the Mizen or Sheeps head lands.

    Highlights:
    Crookhaven & Barleycove
    Sheeps Head walk & Ahakista
    Glengariff & Garnish Island
Some people love Baltimore but I don't get the attraction apart from a ferry to one of the islands

Can't comment on places to stay as family has house down that way.
