I'm having some trouble with my front tooth that is basically rotting away. I'm in a very bad position as I am currently on social welfare and need to get dental asap or in the next few days. I may need an extraction and something to replace the tooth. I have no medical card either which just adds to the problem. I know its a huge ask but would anyone be able to recommend somewhere in Dublin/Kildare thay can help me out with via a payment plan. I do not want to go down the road of a provident loan as it's really a last resort. Any pm responses will help. Thanks!

Unfortunately op, if the tooth is extracted and a denture/bridge/implant is used to replace it, you are effectively asking the dentist for a loan when you request payment by instalments. All these replacement options involve laboratory fees which must be paid at the end of the month, so the dentist pays the lab for your replacement tooth. I do not think any dentist will provide this facility as eaten bread is often forgotten.

Use a credit card, a bank loan or a friend or family members credit card. They know you and know you good for the money. The dentist does not. Payment plans for lengthy treatment like braces is one thing, but for treatment that are done over one or a few visits its does not work.
