Been to Amsterdam with the lads previously so were happy to kip in a hostel (Flying Pig Uptown) in a dorm at 30 euro per night.

Hoping to go back in Spring with the GF, but getting mental prices for hotels / private rooms in hostels. We wanted to go for the Kings Festival 27th Apr 2017 but prices are crazy, so I thought i'll change dates to 1st weekend in April... still as crazy!

Does anyone know of any basic private room (hostel preferred, but hotel OK) within fairly central area that can be gotten for about 100 eur per night?

To give you an idea of how far i'd like to be from, say, Central Station, take a look where we stayed before... happy to walk that distance from central activities: https://www.google.ie/maps/place/The+Flying+Pig+Uptown+Hostel/@52.3603619,4.8608905,14z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x47c609e5bdc68699:0xb18dfc4ad299b1c8?hl=en

Stayed out beside the ArenA before.

Area is ok with bars and restaurants.

Train into town in 15 mins.

Try Meininger Hotels. They're a 3 star hostel, 2 star hotel chain. I stayed here last year and they were great!
The train station is located beside the hotel and you're two stops away, about 5-10 minutes from Amsterdam Centraal Station. I'm nearly sure it is €5.10 for a return train ticket to get yourself to centre of Amsterdam.

Try the Hans Brinker budget hotel. Prices look reasonable that weekend. Fairly basic hostel/hotel but its good craic & clean.

I just posted about CityHub Amsterdam in another thread, but I definitely think it sounds exactly what you are looking for. It's brand new with just opening last month so is very clean and fresh, and is located near the Vondelpark so perhaps a 20 minute walk to Central Station. It costs roughly €60 a night and you are assigned a private "hub" which contains a massive double bed so perfect for a couple. You then share the bathroom/shower facilities with other guests.
They also have a bar too which is nice to chill out at after a day of sightseeing.

    Here's the website;

Quick look on hostelworld.com tlells there's a few at 30-40 a night or 60-70 for two people sharing for the weeok of Kingsday. Not sure how many of you there are or whther you;re sharing the room, though.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Two friends of mine stayed on a lovely houseboat they found on airbnb for 30 quid a night this weekend just gone, bout 15 min walk from the main station. Worth having a look around anyway.

Think I may have messed this up: it appears that the prices are per person, not per room - apologies.

That said, there are still a few coming in at reasonable rates - Amigo Hostel has twin private rooms for €40 a night per person.

Kings day is always expensive in Amsterdam

Also there's two festivals on around the 1st of April in Amsterdam.

AirBNB would be your best bet.
