Just in from a breakdown. Boiler fired each morning and ran until stat satisfied. When heat was called on again it just ran without firing up. Got it to run by disconnecting PC from box and replacing when it fired. Anyway new PC and all is well.
Anyone come across this sort of PC failure before.

I replaced a pc on an rdb on Saturday I didn't do as you did but it was giving the same symptom just running without trying to fire. I thought it was the control box it's usually the control box with this symptom. Then I realised I'd changed the pc on the same burner about 2 years ago. The pc is a common part to go on the rdb I'm thinking.

I am aware of the continuous running fault. It was the fact that it fired once each morning that I hadn't come across before, with a PC fault.

Btw, I almost always find that the continuous running without firing, has been down to bad PC.

    Thanks for reply.

When a customer tells me the burner is running continously without firing I will try the control box first but it's apparent that this is not the norm with an rdb. In my experience with g3b, ecoflam and bentone will lockout with pc fault.
