Any recommendations for somewhere casual to eat in the city centre (d2 preferable) that 2 people can eat for around about €30 total up to 7pm or so.

For reference I always enjoy Pitt Bros which works out about that price. I've no idea of any Early Bird specials or the like

(PS don't start with the "you could always spend a bit more and go.." please)

Have you tried Taco Taco? Bread & Bones is across the river but only just you can even see Dublin 2 from the door so you can pretend you haven't really left it. If you're venturing that far from safety you may as well just go to Boojum though sure its not really a dinner place but mmmmm boojum.

Not safety. Just have to be on Dame St for 7ish. Cheers

Been a while since I was there but Wagamama (underneath Stephen's green shopping centre more or less opposite the Gaiety) should come in at €30. It's Japanese if that floats your boat (I love it).

If you just get a main and a soft drink then lots of places could be less than €30.

Lots of options on Camden St - Green 19, Neon, Zakura, Camden Rotisserie, Frite Haus, tolteca. Market Bar on fade St would as well.

Umi Falafel is where I'd usually head for a quick bite if I'm around Dame St - it's just beside AIB

Wow Burger in the back of the Workman's is pretty tasty. As is Bison Bar in the same complex. Mongolian BBQ in Templebar is good value too. You've also got the Counter on Suffolk Street fro Wings, etc. Diwali on Georges Street is tasty and do a good early bird. Loads of choices really. Any particular cuisine?

Edit - if you enjoy Pitt Brothers head to Bison Bar, it's pretty much the same menu and you have the option of a Wowburger in addition/instead.
