    Hi guys

    So, need some urgent help

We bought Engineered Semi Solid flooring for our home

A new concrete floor was put down 6 months ago, we have been living in the house 3 months now

Floor arrived 2 weeks ago, I unpacked one box to put in our kitchen to get a feel for what they would look like. They started to bend (like a bow, upward)

I then proceeded to un-box the remaining floors and left them for one week in preparation for the install this morning

I just got a call to say that all the wood is now bent...

and the Carpenter is not sure if he can install it

He is blaming the wood but is it possible the house is the problem?

The moisture from the floor? (which surely would be dry by now???)

Please help, floors were very expensive!!!!

Were the floorboards laid, and then warped? Or warped before install? If it's before install, I'd be going back to where you got them.

Take them back! House is well dried out if you are living in it!

The were fine when they were un-boxed

Started to warp after a week out of the box

The sample I put down on the kitchen took about a week before they get warped

You could get a moisture meter and check level of the slab. In general allow 1 month per inch of thickness for slab to dry enough to lay a floor over. That said engineered flooring should be reasonably stable under normal workig conditions to still be usable and if thats not the case ring your supplier BEFORE any attempt to lay is caried out. I have layed 1000s mtrs of flooring and never had them deform that bad while aclimtising

    Thanks all

I got the architect involved and he came around and they are happy to proceed.

I'll refer this to their expertise on the matter

Did you follow the instructions on the packs as there's a chance you opened them too soon.
I've laid semi-solid in my own house over the years and in a friend's house. Every pack said to allow the boards acclimatise in the sealed boxes and to not open them until ready to lay. None of them ever warped when I followed the instructions.
