I have applied for a CE Scheme, the social welfare told me I have the eligibility but when I did apply to one, the employer told me I need a reference number, is that the same as a PPS number?

You will find the reference number written on the page where you first saw the CE position advertised.

Write the number down and give it to Social Welfare along with your PPS number. They need both numbers to register you for the job.

Thanks, so do I have to do this before applying or only if I get offered the position? Becuase I've seen about 3 that interest me.

Yes, you register first with the intreo office (DSP) for EVERY job you are interested in.

Then make the application with whoever is advertising the position.

Apply for as many jobs as you like.
