bled a few rads this morning
went to top up system after but no water will flow in
    it's a sealed system
I have done this once a year and it always flows in straight away
there is a red valve that is opened first (mains water I think) and then a black hexagonal plastic valve on underside of pressure bar
whex I opened them today nothing happened .
pressure is at 1 bar so its not a major issue yet but is like to sort it
Had a water softener fixed in July so maybe air locked ?
or is it possible the system is "full" already and no more water can flow in when I open valves

A pic of that valve after the red one would be useful. It may be an auto one and be set to 1 bar.

oh right thanks I'll put up a PIC when I get home
any other time I've topped it up it has been becaise pressure had dropped to .5 when cold so u could be right
all rads heated fully anyway after the bleed so no problems as such

Yep that's an auto fill valve. Pressure looks ok.

Assuming it's set for 1 bar and that the 1 bar max is not caused by the mains being able to supply a max of 1 bar at the time you opened the valves; Yes.
