I was recently declined again by a bank, through a broker for a mortgage. I asked for a written letter of refusal. Two weeks later I havent gotten my written letter of refusal and not just that, I asked for all my documents such as bank statments and credit union statements and payslips etc and two weeks on I still havent got them and they are my original documents. When I conctacted the broker to see had they any update on this for me, they told it was declined almost a week prior to me asking, and when I asked why wasnt i told, I was informed that they couldn't say until i received the refusal letter. So they were going to leave me sitiing there for weeks only for i asked for an update. I asked the broker to forward me on all the documents I had submitted and still nothing received. Id love to know what's going on there.
When I was declined the first time I got the letter and my documents within 3 days of being declined.

What do you want the refusal in writing for?

A lot of bank application forms have the question "have you ever been refused a loan" on them... I don't know why you want a refusal on your credit record.

I was actually told by my solicitor to get refusals in writing.

There is a council loan available if you meet certain criteria but you need a certain number of refusals to qualify

Still need all my documents from the second bank who refused, to apply for a council mortgage, which can't be done until I get those bank statements etc as they go back to 2007. I requested the broker two weeks ago for these documents back.
