As we're obviously getting close to a significant new arc with new characters, could people please spoiler anything even remotely connected to the comics just to avoid any trouble which has been creeping into the last few threads. By all means discuss them, just be sure to spoiler them as this thread is specifically for the TV series only!

I'd go even further and say that any talk of comics at all should be in a different thread (There is a comic/tv compare and contrast thread) and not even in here in spoilers, and I say that as a comic reader.

looking forward to tonight. really hope they dont just focus on Alexandia though. episodes are so short! anyone know if next weeks ep is an hour and a half?? (or just over an hour including ads, as it be)

    what an epic ending!

Tara giving Rick the fingers was the highlight! she looks so pregnant now. Doesn't bode well for her character though i would imagine. Nice to see all the main characters getting a look in tonight.

The Glenn bit was very anti climatic i guess but i guess the execution was better than I thought. Im prob going to be in minority but i liked his scenes with Enid too. She seems like she is going to be a big character. Thought they were foreshadowing his death though for the end of the episode.

Carol and Sam scene was very creepy.

next week is going to be awesome!

Was very surprised by the first few minutes, I thought they would have left that til the end of the episode, or even next week. It also didn't look as stupid as I had imagined...somewhat plausible.

The minute they showed the cracks in the chapel it was obvious what was gonna happen. Should make for an action packed finale.

So before the **** hit the fan I take it that kid (can't remember his name) was going to shoot Carl? Be interesting to see how that develops.

Overall it was a good episode.

Good episode. It set things up nicely for the mid season finale.

Are they going to do anything with Gabriel at all this season? I'm sick of him lurking around looking sheepish and guilty!

The wardrobe of both actors is not a coincidence. They are both wearing grey trousers, grey t-shirts and grey jackets. The camera angle is also specificially obtuse to get people talking.

He's not dead. It's a bait and switch. He'll either fire the flare gun to distract them and crawl under the garbage can, or run up the staircase 5 feet from him. Or the "zombie guts" will mask him from the herd or some other ridiculous explaination. Also, he didnt appear on the talking dead. Every major character who dies has appeared on it the episode they bought it.

Personally, I think it's bullsh*t because there is no logical way to get out of that even though he will. Now he might still end up bitten and die in a few episodes but he's making it out of that alley for sure.

    Called it. :P

The most annoying thing about the Glenn situation is how easily he jumped into the building beside where they were after he saw yer wan in there. Why didn't they do that when they got trapped first?

I assume Sasha, Abraham and Daryl will meet with Glenn outside the walls next week and try and tackle some of the herd from out there. It'll be interesting to see how they tackle them within the walls though. Hopefully it'll largely be resolved next week anyhow and have the first episode after the mid season finale about the aftermath. I'm sure there will be a cliff hanger, but hopefully they don't have it as just the whole place still in danger.

Maybe it's because I'm spoiled by the absolutely incredible second season of Leftovers, where there hasn't been a bad episode yet, but so far this season hasn't been all that great. It feels like they're just on the farm again, where not much else happens. We're.. what.. 7 episodes in and already 2 have essentially just been filler and acting opening for other stuff to come.

You say that now but just read the thread for that episode a few weeks ago. Quite a lot of people were convinced he was dead and calling the rest of us people in denial. :D

This series, to me at least, seems to be clutching at straws. I'd been enjoying it and as much as I liked Glen I think this could be the last straw for the stupidity sensors. It's bothered me enough that they didn't blow the high roads on the canyon so the walkers couldn't escape from the pit but now it's just getting that bit too ridiculous.

    Glenns Dead

Dead excited to be out from under that bin

Enjoyed the episode wouldnt call it a filler by any stretch of the imagination.

Any meaning the the priest was going aroung prayng again and its a church that knocks the wall. Or is it just a bit of tasty irony.

Also were the ballons a sign or were the two attacked.
Find out next week same walker time same walker channel.

Correct me if im wrong but when Nicholas shot himself and they both fell weren't there thousands of walkers coming at Glenn and already surrounding him from both sides of the fence...where did they all go and why did they stop trying to get him when he was under that bin?

    Laughable stuff tbh.

Presume it was only the nearest ones that knew of his presence and when he killed them they blocked others and the rest were only interested in the meal at hand. From what I could tell he was under the bin for 2 nights plus a bit and the horde just wandered off.

The fence did dissapear and come back mind.

I'd say one night only based on the timeline at Alexandria itself, where it seems to only be the day after the exercise to clear the horde from the canyon place.

Oh right not really good at following the timeline but thought it went dark then daytime and nightime shown again and the fact he was so thirsty. My mistake cheers for the clear up.

You may be right, but as far as I can tell (without doing any research into it) it was only 1 night. Given how thirsty he was though he made it seem like more at least.

Morgan has become a very annoying character for me now. He just seems to be up to dumb shenanigans. TD always runs into problems with episodes without any action pieces. Apart from the end scene, I thought it was distinctly average,

was listening to Talking Dead and they said all the events happened over 1 day and night. So essentially he was under the bin overnight. Darryl, Sasha and Abraham are also travelling back on the same timeline as everyone else is on now. It does seem like an extremely stretched day but I guess it all makes sense.

My guess is that voice calling help may be someone in Alexandria for sure now and it really sounds like Eugene. Hope he doesnt die. Hope Tara doesnt die either but because of the actresses pregnancy it doesnt look good, does it? i only found out that she is the sister of the guy who plays Hyde in The 70s Show. Random Fact!

Does it make sense though? Glen gone for one night and they've already written his name on a wall in his remembrance? Then Maggie goes looking for him, and comes back and rubs it off. All after one night?

it does on timeline but the reaction to enscript their names on the wall immediately was a bit ott. im guessing that when they saw michonne, heath etc get back safe and knowing the catastrophe that unfolded outside the walls with so many loose walkers that anyone still not back was more than likely dead. especially those on foot like glenn and nicholas.

Maggie and Aaron went on their expedition immediately after Rick done his speech, well im guessing within a couple of hours anyway and it only lasted a short time period .

But in hindsight im just thinking about those scenes in episode 5 and it did seem like it was a new day. It was just far too stretched. Just artistic licence i guess but yeah, very unrealistic that after all the drama of the wolves, things would have "settled down" so quickly.

I didn't know that. So she's also the sister of the guy who plays the oldest brother in Malcolm in the middle too then.

Can they get rid of Spencer tho, he's completely annoying.... Esp his robbing of pantry..

Liked the episode, thought Glenn's escape looked believable at time. So now the walkers are within the gates...... F

Enjoyed it well enough, tied most strings together for the mid season finale.

I do think Glen could still bite the bar though, possibly saving the emo female teen. The internet breathed a sigh of relief when he was revealed to be alive only to be mangled because of an obnoxious teenager.

Looking forward to next week, favourite season so far.

How did Glenn know there was a helium tank with more strings & balloons in the ditch?

They were using balloons as markers on the road for "operation herd the walkers"

They used balloons to mark the path for the walkers and locations to meet etc, when they were doing the quarry stuff.

I don't know how Alexandria will cope with the walker attack, they haven't had any time at all to recover from the Wolves. People will run and hide in their homes probably? They won't have enough bullets for all of them or the space to use knives much I don't think. To easy to get over powered by numbers.

It'll be up to glen and darryl and co to cause a distraction and lure them away. While everyone else hunkers down.

There will probably be a story witht eh wolf in the cage too.

I really enjoyed Tara giving Rick the finger, was very appropriate! Also I'm glad they've pretty much decided to stop hiding her bump and using her character. She looks very preganant, I'd say 7 months or more. So it's possible she has her baby and returns for next season. I don't think they need to kill her off or that she's in any more jeopardy than anyone else

Is it an oil tanker type thing that Darryl is driving with Abraham & Sasha?

If so I'd say they'll do what yer man did in the forest and drive it around spilling fuel and then light it.
That'd take care of a lot of the walkers but might burn down Alexandria.

enjoyed that one. Id say someone major enough is gonna die on the finale- or we will be left to think they are at least. Maybe Glenn still? Something about him on the talking dead made me think maybe hes still a goner...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,640 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

(comic book guy voice) Worst. Episode. Ever.

Glenn surviving is a jump the shark moment. It is bullshit. They teased the fans with a big character death and then insulted our intelligence by asking us to believe that an entire HORDE of walkers decided to completely ignore him while he was under a corpse, rather than do what they would have logically done - completely swarm and envelop the bodies and begin devouring LIKE WE HAVE SEEN THEM DO REPEATEDLY.

If Glenn had been covered in walker guts and goo and then fell - maaaaayyyybe I could buy that the zombies didn't go for him. But in the past when we have seen people dress as walkers the way Carol did, wasn't it important to not betray any human qualities, i.e. not to show fear; to make sure you remain quiet and still, you know? Unlike the way Glenn reacted where he had a look of sheer unadulterated terror on his face. Boy, it's a good thing those walkers were short-sighted, eh Glenn?

Piss-poor idea from start to finish. It was an instant failure of an episode after that, not helped by the hippy, new age background theme they played for the scene. Was my heart supposed to gush with joy at seeing a character survive such a ridiculous situation? Should I have cried? Well I was on the brink of tears: I thought to myself, 'I invested emotionally in this tripe?'

Then we cut to the scene with Enid (Eeeee-nid) as Glenn calls her. Or Alex Mack with anger management issues as I call her. Oh joy, let us have a stroppy teen throw a tantrum in the middle of an apocalyptic meltdown. Who cares about all those undead folks walking around when she's got hormones to deal with. I was half-expecting her to scream 'You're not my real Dad!'

And maybe I missed a scene but since when did Maggie become his wife? Did I zone out on another melodramatic piece of nonsense? I can't believe I used to like this character in the early seasons. What a pain in the backside. Then we cut back to Morgan aka Sensei showing his martial arts expertise which he gained in about two and a half months of training and at this point I just wanted to throw in the towel. I guess loyalty kept me going.

And then I see Carl and he has the hat on him again. At this point I was suffering. It was hurting me to watch this programme so I only half-watched the rest of it.

This episode was a travesty and the show itself has ironically become infected with a lethal virus: idiocy.

    1/10.

    I enjoyed that episode.
The only thing that annoyed me was the tower falling. It was obvious to everyone bar the Alexandrians it was gonna crumble. Not sure what they could have done about without leaving the compound it but they should have known it was gonna happen.
As for the Glenn story, it was a bit far fetched but i almost expected it to happen.
I had forgotten how stunning Maggie was, the scene where (i think) she was on the watch tower with her hair all messed up, hot!

So only a normal (short) episode for the mid-season finale, that's depressing. I really think it warrants 90 mins.

The episodes feel like they are getting shorter and shorter, I need more of TWD in my life!!
