Bringing children to Premiership matches

Anyone brought their young children to a Premiership game? My husband is really keen to bring our 6-year old to one next season. I think with the early start and late flights back, it's a really long day and he'd be shattered. Is it worth it??
Also I've heard that premiership games can often be quite a rough place for a small child.
They could obviously stay overnight, but that'd hike up the cost a good bit.

I'd prefer that he goes to a few GAA and rugby matches in Dublin -he'd still get all of the buzz of a match without the hassle of travel etc.

Anyone got good/bad experiences of travelling to matches with their children?

hi yintang I used to bring my lad to matches once or twice a year when he was aged between 8 and 15 . [now 21 goes with girlfriend] and I never had a bad experience with crowds etc . I used always go Saturday morning and come back Sunday as it would be hectic to do it all in one day with young child. The disadvantages for me personally is that we would be back in Hotel room usually at 8pm as don't want young kid in bar so after game usually we would have a bite of grub back at Hotel with 2 drinks and up to room for night but I suppose it was good bonding time. There are pros and cons but like anything he should try it and see how it goes. My problem with travelling over these days is it is so Expensive with sterling match tickets and hotels that Id have a week in spain with yhe missus for the price of a weekend in London.

I took my little lad over to a match in august he's 6. Luckily we had family to stay with because the cost mounts up with the euro being so poor, he enjoyed it there was no trouble it's very family friendly. If we didn't have any one to stay with I wouldn't have bothered for a few more years, because it's a long day to try and go over and back in the one day for a little one, and when they're tired it takes a lot of the fun on of it. I will probably take my lad to the aviva and croke park for a few years cos any big stadium is impressive at that age. but then again every dad can't wait to to take his son to his first match 😀 so it's more for the dad 😇.believe me

well the way ye are playing this year avfc I think it could be a championship game ye will be going to next year .I agree I think it is a bit much for a 6yo for a 1 day trip and anyway the Aviva should be a good venue for the next few games after us qualifying for Euro 2016 {now there is an idea} I hope villa improve also as I have a good few buddies who are loyal villa fans.
