    Hi Guys,

I am looking for the locknut wrench to adjust the steering box in my car. The dealer does not have one and they can't get it. I will appreciate if any of you could let me know where I could buy one or borrow for a day to do the simple task. I found some shops in the US sell them, but they do not post outside of the States...

I tried many engineering shops with no success.

Did you consider buying a cheap flogging spanner in the likes of an army surplus store?

Try Lings in the UK, seems to be available there with a 3 day lead time.

That may be an alternative, but as there is not much room around I believe a dedicated wrench is just a safer option without trying.

If you cannot get this tool from Lings, I would buy a 40mm 12pt socket and get an engineering company to cut a section off the socket and weld on a bar similar to the one on the tool, it only has to hold 18ftlbs and any decent engineering shop would make one up pretty quickly.

Great idea, thank you. I actually thought about making one, but using a cut off slice of a socket would make it a lot easier.
