So as the title suggests herself is looking for a new car. she is annoying the sh!t outta me.

    Her criteria is:

    A boot for the dogs
    Not High Tax
    Over 1.4
    spacious
    Reliable (obviousy i know)
Preference for diesel but not too pushed and could get her to petrol

We so far have looked at a jetta 1.9 and a passat 1.9. The jetta was good nick byt the flywheel was gone according to my mate and mechanic mate. The passat was just a piece of sh!t

So far I have suggested the jetta or passat 1.9, the 1.6 petrol focus.

As I keep explaining to her but to no avail she has to be patient because she is shopping in the lower price range, good cars are snapped up and also people are not selling around xmas usually

Any suggestions on other cars I could recommend?

What about volvo. is it the s60?
    Or a mistubushi Lancer?

A saloon is probably not suitable if you have a dog unless you plan to put the dog in the rear passenger area of the car rather than the boot. A hatchback or estate would be more suitable were you can put the dog in the boot and put a rail guard up to stop the dog from jumping over the rear seats into the passenger area.

Also if you don't do enough mileage to need a diesel then I'd avoid them as most in the lower price ranges are knackered at this stage.

Skoda Octavia or a Seat Leon. Both lovely cars both very reliable.

    Peace and long life.
