    Here's my submission

    the-snapper-movie-poster-1993-1020243566.jpg

    The Snapper USA movie poster.

Ireland/UK poster shows her drinking with her mates. The family in the film were lower middle class Dublin skangers.

This movie poster gives the impression it's a film set in an upper class part of Chicago. I'm not even sure that's Tina Kellegher pictured.

Two surreal and psychological dramas that were made to look like Saw or Hostel.

This has been done to death but basically any Rom Com and/or lean-against-eachother and/or Matthew Perry poster:

Bad film posters are like bad album covers, the more you look the more you find and the worse they get. This one is not offensive - its merely completely at odds with the tone and texture of the film its promoting. There is another one for the American market that looks worse again but I can't find it

How it should look - the European Quad

The Driver like many old films has also been subjected to the re-imaging horror as DVD and streaming publicity updates the artwork with these creative miseries

They really don't try anymore. They're all the same useless, generic sh*te that we've all seen before. Now the poster from Taxi Driver is beautiful.....

Nah there's plenty of beautiful posters still being made. Just stroll through the corridors of the IFI or Lighthouse.

I thought this thread was going to be about slagging off other posters who post in the Film Forum ......... so disappointed!!!

I actually quite like the first Driver one. At least it's not just another photoshop (Or collage I suppose, given the time) of stills from the movie. Mondo are doing a successful line in releasing retro-style posters for modern movies.

What I don't get are the ones that are terrible and painfully obvious photoshop jobs. Look at this for example - how an earth was this approved?

That first Driver poster is great, very confused why it is considered bad, the 2nd driver poster is a complete composition mess and it just gets worse from there.

An upwardly mobile satelite suburb of Reno Nevada surely?

Any recent poster starring Diane Keaton, pretty sure its the same shot used in each one they just move her head around.
That new Coopers movie is another one in the "smile and look off camera" thing she's doing.

this one always annoyed me because it's so obviously two different photos comped together.

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. The one for the Italian version could be funny/offensive/bad or all three.
First the German version, for comparison.

    The Italian version:

Bonus point for using the word Spudorato, which actually means shameless in Italian!

You know what is interesting? When you type un poliziotto da happy hour into Google translate, it genuinely translates it to "a The Guard".

I see the 'rom-com' sh*te poster has been done in another post ... but this is my personal favourite :

    22757864-22757981-large.jpg

Two very punchable heads on 'em there, but I think its him pointing at her that annoys me the most.

Surely the worst part of that has to be the PS job done on Kim Cattral. At least the others are recognisable, even SJP.

I think SJP's so recognisable because they turned her in to a cartoon caricature of herself. :o
