Hi guys, my orthodontist says I need to see a gum specialist before I can get braces :(:( Can anyone recommend a good one in the Dublin area? Preferrably D15 or city centre.

Hey did you get sorted rawn. I have started getting treatment with a surgery near UCD that are wonderful.
It's been a really intense experience so having kind staff look after you is priceless.
    Bets of luck

What do they think is wrong with your gums? I have heard tea tree oil is amazing for almost all gum related issues.

My front lower gum has pulled away from my teeth and there's a chunk missing. The orthodontist I spoke to said I'll need to get a stitch into it to try and close it back up and to prevent it worsening. But I'm willing to try anything to help my general gum health so I'll look into tea tree oil, thanks!

Don't "look into tea tree oil", I can assure you that is pure rubbish.

If you brushed your teeth and flossed before the tea tree oil it would be quite effective.

I do both of those things :D so if tea tree oil can help boost my general gum health I'm all for it!

Thanks CaoimheSquee for the recommendation, I am very very nervous so going to someone patient will make all the difference. Just had an awful experience with a local dentist (for a filling) the other day, so the fear is in me again. He was just really cold and kind of insulting when it came to discussing my routine :(

Oh trust me, they will completely patient and kind to you. Everything will be explained clearly and you will honestly feel so looked after.
I cannot fault their service and I am a VERY nervous patient.
Good luck, you will be utterly fine here.
