X-Ray Question

So I got a chest X-ray today. While I'm waiting a few days for results, I was wondering if someone could fill me in a little bit with one or two questions.

I've had a strange pain in my chest for around 4 weeks. I only notice it once or twice a week when breathing in deeply. It wasn't piercing, just sort of annoying. Not so much a pain but more of a hollow dense feeling if that makes sense.

Anyway, I went to the doctor yesterday to get it checked out. I've only been 3 times in my life and have no medical history. I'm 32, male, 6ft and 12.5 stone. The doc checked my blood pressure and said it was a little high - 165. She then checked my breathing both on the front and back and everything appeared fine (judging by what I could read from her typed notes). She organised a chest X-ray for me. This doesn't feel like anything to do with my heart. Likewise, I don't feel sick at all. I don't have a cough, no issues with air intake, I don't smoke.

She also put me on steroids. She said it could be a case where I may have a small infection that needs to be lifted.

My question is, what would she be looking for with the X-ray or is that standard procedure?

Regarding my bp of 165, could that be a case of doctor syndrome i.e. since I never go, I may have been slightly anxious therefore the increase?

I suppose I'm just curious. I didn't think twice about the whole thing but a few members of my family were a bit worried, hence they've now worried me.
