What kind of shows should there be guys on TV to make it better? Not crap like Fair City, Breadwinners etc.

    Any ideas?

Yes they're loads of great ones and it's widely recognised. They're just not on RTE.

I'm somewhat amused at the two examples you give.

Fair City is very popular with the Irish viewing public and is not going to be replaced anytime soon.

Breadwinners as far as I can see is a childrens cartoon shown at 9.45am and 4.40pm on TG4.
I have no idea whether it's crap or not but I don't think your average Boards poster will be too bothered what TG4 shows at those times.

gonna try and cover a wide spectrum of tastes here

Fargo, Narcos, Daredevil, The Walking Dead, Peep Show, Rick & Morty, Orange is the new black, Game of thrones, The Leftovers, Girls, Silicon Valley, Sherlock, House of cards, Mr Robot, Better Call Saul, Archer, The Bridge (Bron)

including shows a little less current but that would still be modern and constitute a modern age:

Breaking Bad,, The Sopranos, The Wire, True Detective, Californication, Band of brothers, Arrested Development, The Shield, The West Wing, Lost, Curb your enthusiasm, Boardwalk Empire, 24

ok that list is long enough already (but I could easily go on and on) both current and modern and it's only my personal taste so far you could easily add in things like Modern Family or The Inbetweeners to count for a more general audience

Bounty Hunter pretty much nailed it with some of the shows that I would put on the list but I shall endeavor to add a few more
Ash vs Evil Dead, Nathan for you, You me and the apocalypse, Bobs burgers, The X-Files Season 10 (coming in January 2016), Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Supernatural (dont watch this myself but my brother and his mates and other friends love it),
The Grinder (New show but pretty funny), The Last Man On Earth (again very funny),Vikings, The TV network AMC have also started a new show called Into the Badlands and another show called Preacher in 2016
There are so many more shows that are currently on the TV but I would be here all day. :)
