Jaguar XJ 06 drivers window

Hi guys was just speaking with the father there and he told me the drivers side window has stopped opening and he to me he dosint know what the part is himself could be the winder or the motor has to be replaced and got quoted 350 euros of a jaguar specialist just for the part + labour to fix it.

Anyone know what is the cheapest way to buy the parts for a jaguar XJ ?

Did you actually get the problem diagnosed? It might be as simple as a bad connection, worn brushes on the motor, or even a fuse! If it's brushes, it usually runs slowly, sticking intermittently, before failing altogether.

If it just stops working suddenly, it might just be a fuse / relay or connection. The wire harness that passes through to the door can give problems at the gap between the door and frame. Labour charges on Jags tend to be a bit steep, which is why I do my own maintenance, albeit on an older XJ. Some Jag parts are interchangeable with Ford Mondeo parts, but you pay extra for the "Jaguar" stamp!

I don't know how he got the quote of nobody knows what's wrong.
If jaguar diagnosed this and then gave a price, I suggest you find out what they diagnosed and then come back here.
