Outstanding Eircom Bill - Disputed

I cancelled with Eircom last February. Sent them an email to that effect, got an automated reply saying I need to call a number to cancel. Did that, but my phone was operational about 5 weeks later. Called them about it and the ignorant sod on the phone told me I never cancelled, that I never called them and that there was only a call about an upgrade. He was only concerned with getting off the phone, never offered a call back or to put me through to the cancellations department.

I phoned ComReg and registered a complaint who asked me to call Eircom again and ask for the calls to be pulled and the conditions of cancellation from the contract. I call Eircom again and explain that I have made a complaint to ComReg about my issue. That agent said they would organise a call back. I can't remember if they called me or if I had to call them back, but I spoke to a team leader who said they would pull the calls and have a listen. They never called me back. I called about 3-4 times after speaking to this team leader and still no action. They continued to send me a bill alright, but nothing else. I stopped calling them.

I moved to another Country in August, I am back in Ireland for a Visit. Good few bills from Eircom, no other communication. I also had emails from a solicitors office which stated they were taking me to court. I called Eircom again, explaining everything again to another agent who said they would look into it, but as they were on holidays they would contact me the following Tuesday (I called them on a Thursday). Surprise surprise, this didn't happen so I called ComReg again and reopened the complaint. I have to wait two weeks in order for ComReg to escalate the complaint. In the mean time I called the solicitors and told them I have a dispute open with ComReg. The letters from the solicitors seem to have stopped.

I sent the cancellation email at the end of February. I paid my bill for February and March, but not for April, May or June.

I am will be leaving Ireland in about 10 days, but I don't think this matter will be resolved anytime soon. I have explained to all parties, that if I did not cancel the contract, then I will pay the outstanding bill. Eircom have my email, they have never contacted me via email or letter regarding my dispute. I only spoke to them once via phone.

Not looking for legal advice, more of an opinion if I am on the right track in what I am doing. I am trying to resolve the dispute, but from my perspective, Eircom are not. Has anybody been in this situation, or a similar situation with Eircom? What was the outcome? Are they likely to summon me to court for 100 euro?
