Do you suffer from it? not me anyway. 21st December is time enough for the foolish spending, bellend xmas tunes, decorations and all the other jazz that goes with Christmas.
I would like to remind the general public to loose the hard on and calm down its only the middle of November yet.

Sure the finest day in Donegal is as rough as a badgers arse, so what can you expect this time of the year?

I've noticed this year that the premature Christmasitis has started earlier than usual for me. I have a cousin who has been counting down the days till Christmas since September. She's 27 years old, but you'd swear she was 7. Know another girl who recently talked about putting her Christmas decorations up. I've never seen it happen this early before.

    I know your game

It's all a dream and illusion now
It must come true, sometimes soon somehow
All across the land dawns a brand new morn
This comes to pass when a child is born

A horrid relation of mine put the Christmas tree up 2 days ago in our house. It never usually goes up until about 2 weeks before Xmas.

It has totally ruined the prestige and occasion of putting tree up. The blinds were also opened over the last couple of days to make sure people outside can see. Attention seeking at its finest.

I'll never talk to them again after this.

    Do you suffer from it?

Nope. Amazon is your friend here.

20 mins and my shopping is done and delivered to my door.
None of this queueing for 2 hours for a parking spot, or knuckling and elbowing my way through the shops **** thank you!

November and December make me horribly anxious and almost fearful. I'm getting better at managing it, but every year I get this ball of stress in my stomach and it doesn't go until Christmas is over.

I have no idea why, I'm a perfectly logical and reasonable person the rest of the year, like nothing particularly bad ever happened at Christmas to make me hate it, but this feeling of dread is so draining.

St. Stephens day is probably my favourite day of the year, because it's over. How sad is that :/

Everybody knows that Christmas starts whenever the John Lewis ad first airs.
Ahhhh, the John Lewis ad. Sure nothing says Christmas more than that.
Same as Mince pies, plum pud, eggnog, the brusselses sprouts, the visit to Hector Grey's.
I remember it from when I was a nipper. And me Granpa telling me how he loved himself even when he were a chisler like me. I was more excited about seeing what enchanted world John Lewis would bring to us than even what Santy might leave under the tree. Dashing down to the Savoy when you would hear someone at school saying they were going to have it at the matinee. Lovely memories. Great traditions. The real spirit of the old Chrimbo. God bless you John Lewis, whoever you are, and a Happy Christmas.
    Ahhh, thems were the days....

Anyone else mis-read the thread title as Christmastitis? Thus implying some correlation between the festive season and nipple problems? Anyway, I think I speak for everyone here when I say that "jimgoose and the Bellend Christmas Tunes" would be a truly outstanding name for a Val Doonican tribute outfit.

What is it about Christmas in this country? I was in Spain last year. Most shops/hotels/restaurants had just one Christmas tree, and that was it. No big deal. I'm going back there this year!

The Christmas markets are being built here, not sure if they will be open this weekend or not, I can't wait. I'll be in there most evenings having some Glühwein and Feuerzangenbowles, with plenty of good food. Religion might be a lot of nonsense but they get some things right :)
