Driving ban on learners permit query

    Hi,

2 years ago I got disqualified from driving for driving a car with no insurance, I had insurance on my own car but not on the car I was driving (it was a stupid thing to do)

I got a 2 year ban which was fine, it's coming to the end in a few weeks.

I need to be able to start driving as soon as it's restored for college and work as I have been told there is more work hours there for me if I'm able to travel after hours which I really could do with.

My question is , what happens when my ban is expired do I just apply for my Learner permit license or do I have to re-sit a theory test?

There's not much help online and I can't seem to get a straight answer out of the guards or a solicitor..

    Cheers :)

The ban should expire automatically. Call the NDLS and ask them the date. You should be able to just apply as normal then. Unless the court stipulated anything specific such as repeating the theory test then you shouldn't have to do any more.

Do you plan to drive unaccompanied?
