Hi..my sister is travelling from co tyrone via m1 via car into dublin in the morning and is due in court at 9.30am..realistically..has she a hope of making it what with rush hour traffic?or would she be better off parking near a luas line outside city and taking luas? Thanks for any suggestions

What time is she setting off?
She could leave Tyrone at 5ish,get down to Smithfield 7.30,have breakfast, find parking and arrive at court relaxed.

Is she sure it's the 4 courts and not the new Court Building on Parkgate Street?

On a bad day it could be 45 minutes to an hour from the M1 to Red Cow park and ride, then 30 minutes on the luas. Then equal traffic at the end of the day.Is this any better than getting into town early ?

Drive to pavilions in Swords, park there and then get Dublin Bus/Swords Express into city center

Assuming it is a criminal case, as far as I know, all district court sittings have moved to the Criminal Courts of Justice building.

Using Swords Express sounds like a good idea.

Hope she didn't use the Red Cow /Luas idea.

Swords, using Dublin Bus into town? Hope the OP had plenty of time on their hands. It's not as if there is a wild number of Swords Express buses either. Five buses in the morning, two buses in the afternoon and one at night. Yup. No planning necessary for that option :rolleyes

You should recheck the timetable, every half hour from Swords to town on the 500.

Ah, that's an improvement all right. They need to fix their main link though as it's misleading.
