    Hi,

I need some help picking headphones that will pair well with my amp.
    http://www.hifiengine.com/manual_library/sony/ta-f248e.shtml

They should be full size over ear. Should be partially or fully closed back.

I am looking to upgrade from the sennheiser wireless RS 170
    http://en-us.sennheiser.com/wireless-headphones-home-audio-rs-170

The above are only okay. They sound thin and can suffer from interference so it's time I got a good cabled set.

Budget is 150-200. Will be used primarily for music, some movies. I listen to all types of music from jazz to nine inch nails to classical.

My main concerns are getting the right set to pair well with what the amp can provide in terms of impedence.

    Thanks :)

I'm pretty sure your choice of amp will have little-to-no affect on the power going to a WIRELESS set.

Philips Fidelio range might be out of budget.

    Try Audio-Technica M50x or Sennheiser HD598.

    Thanks for the suggestions.
I think the HD598 might not work because of the fully open design. Herself would probably kill me!

The Audio-Technica look good. Do they have decent sound isolation?
Any other suggestions in that range wold be great also, cheers.

In the same boat (Santa - aka herself (sorry kids!:)) is being tasked with replacing my Sennheiser HD-470, they must be the guts of 20 years old and showing their age.

Looking for a pair in the same range as Songok - must be over ear and have as much isolation as possible. They'll run off a Rotel RA-05 amp - which is itself bright - with digital source being CD and also vinyl / cassette.

I got a set of Sony MDR-1A. Delighted with them.

    .......bought from Cloney.

Probably more than you want to spend, but they're astonishing.

    D.

Ps. they come with two cables. One short one with mic and volume for iPhone.
