409 will take you to eyre square from GMIT, NUIG is not that far from there, but if you did want to get another bus, the 405 to Rahoon will stop outside the University. Each bus will be €2, i think a daysaver is €4.20 which will give you access to the buses for the day.

Adult fare is €1.60 with a Leap card. There are also student fares

405 is every 20 minutes: it does between close to the north entrance of GMIT and NUIG.

402 is also every 20 minutes, and goes between the Dublin Rd entrance of GMIT and the south end of NUIG.

With either of these, you get on the bus at one end and only pay one fare to get to the other end.

There are other buses going past each GMIT and NUIG, too, but with them you need to change at Eyre Square.

On the dublin road 402 is that the bus stop across from gmit or on the gmit side with the railings?

The outward 402 trip (towards Merlin Park hospital) stops on the GMIT side, the inward trip stops across the road. 402 will drop you straight from there to the main gate of NUIG.

    You're welcome in advance.

Google Maps is your friend. You can search GMIT to NUIG and select public transport to get bus options. You can also select departure or arrival times.
