I'm in the market for something decent here. Not your Assis €400+ stuff cos I'm not as loaded as Beasty yet and not the cheap stuff that I'll go through quick enough and pay again sooner than I would like.

    Maybe a limit of €200.

Anybody any recommendations or warnings on what to avoid?

    Thanks.

I bought Santini Roubaix bibtights in 2009 for 45 of the Queen's pounds. Still going strong.

I'm still looking but it seems you can have a good set of shorts and cover them pad'less with quality bibs/leggings.

Not the exact same as what I have, but I think they are the same material-wise.

What you want is something which is fleece-lined and maybe windproof at the front in some key locations, i.e. knees, thighs, crotch.

No doubt, but I want the full length bibs.

You get used to them. Anyway, they don't have your size.

High back and fairly high front nearly acts as a second jersey.
    Love mine.
    Nice and warm as well!

40 quid in M (that's your size for these, or at least that's what I bought)

BTW, foot-loops can be removed with a scissors.

Does VCB not supply such necessities to it's members?

I've a bit more "girth" than you down there! Large for me!

    No. Very disappointing.

Up to 60% off - this is what they have in Medium

Ignoring those with no insert (which can be worn over normal shorts), they start at £115 (with free delivery), which is well within your price range

Will last until you next crash (and probably longer)

EDIT - The Large options (although even I can squeeze into them!!)

We do but charge for such a privelige.
I gotta say the winter 3/4s I got form Verge are really warm.
Can imagine the tights being just as toasty.

I think along similar lines. I use shorts with leg warmers. I find that combination more versatile as I get a good pair of shorts that I can use in the summer and I just add the leg warmers when required.

    Shorts + leg-warmers are faster than bib-tights.

What's the sample demographic or control group? What were the wind conditions? Was one rider wearing a flappy hi vis?
