I would love is you all would go and buy this song not only because it is a cool song but because this song was being played at the moment the ISIS terrorists opened fire at the concert in Paris.

Share this song on social media and encourage your friends to buy it and make it No. 1 in the charts.

We aren't soldiers but we can fight propaganda with propaganda of our own and it would be simple thing we could do collectively to promote this song and stick it to the snackbars.

So buying this song will stop ISIS?

I think showing them the values of Christianity in the form of repeats of Father Ted is a better option.

Can I change my facebook profile picture to Mohammed instead?

I feel this would be more effective.

Your idea, and the logic supporting it, are beyond ridiculous so no.

Twitter will love this crap though...

Already a campaign going to get their Duran Duran song to number 1. Would be better if was this song though.

I'm pretty sure Isis will hate anything that makes it to number 1 in any western nations music charts, so it's all much of a muchness

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 669 ✭✭✭josephryan1989

It would send a political statement to the world that ISIS will not intimidate us all into submission.

The negative posters above obviously haven't any guts.

This song should become the anthem of opposition to ISIS everywhere.

Wrong song OP - the campaign is for the track "Save a Prayer"

i think we should pray to jesus and have him lash IS with the 10 plagues from the old testament.

Now that would send a sign

We could offer him the soul of Stephen Fry for all that anti God stuff he was spouting to Gay Byrne as tribute.

Even Youtube has changed its logo to a French flag, whats the point of all this stuff it doesn't bring people back and doubt it gives any comfort to the victims.
What are we in solidarity about, that terrorism is bad or is it a Carte Blanche for any French response? If France takes strong measures to prevent persons who don't share the French civic vision are we in solidarity about that, what if they make a deal to put Assad back in power are we in solidarity with that.
I doubt this because there was numerous people lampooning the idea that there was a security risk associated with the migrant crises will they have solidarity if the French close their borders?

Does the Band even like this idea?

So as soon as France and presumably the United States, UK, Germany and other world powers send in ground troops to hammer the hell out of ISIS you will be protesting about the human rights of the poor innocent snackbars? Will you be burning French flags?

I became disillusioned with this tactic when Rage against the Machine getting to number one failed to rid the world of Xfactor.

Yes, nobody has the guts to purchase a song. I already own it anyway.

This idea that buying a song will send a political statement is beyond stupid.

Politics and actions that influence and affect those we're discussing send statements.

I don't think Isis give a shít what song is number one. All buying the song will do, is make money for the band.

Until the last man in the world is blind?

Here's a thought. How about we all spend the next few years getting off the oil tit. How about we build a big wall around the region? We evacuate first, of course. Anybody who wishes to live in the 21st century is welcome to come out. The rest can stay and live on camel milk, oil and sand. Anybody who misbehaves, back in with them. Monthly parachute drops. Any who prosper and thrive, embracing all that the enlightenment and progress has given us, and rejecting the values of medieval Arabia from the time when mohammad married a child, can either stay, or repopulate once the ar5eholes have either killed each other in their quest for 'who can be the sharia-est', or starved to death on sandy oil.

La Marseillaise, The Star-Spankled Banner, Amhrán na bhFiann, The Internationale and the Horst Wessel song send out a message don't they?

Most people are saying pray for Paris, yet you want a song called kiss the devil to make no1 for Christmas.

Kind of eery listening to this knowing people were being shot while it was playing. I prefer the french flag filter way of support

It's rhetorical of course but you have a point. Those who want to live there in the 7 th century could go. Those who want to accept 21st century Western European values come here. But the liars though...there's the problem.

A sentiment directed at the dead killers perhaps? If you believe in all that God and the devil shyte. Which they undoubtedly did...

If you do though, and vaguely related, how appropriate is it that that ridiculous waste of oxygen, jihadi john, was vapourized by a 'hellfire' missile on Friday?

Well they described the concert as prostitution so maybe AH had the answer all along: hookers and Coke. Take that IS!

yeah. it certainly will. taking part in attention seeking nonsense on social media will definitely stop isis.

or, maybe we have better things to do then seek attention and likes on social media

Both the 'french flag filter' and the '#1 in the charts' methods of support are equally futile and infact quite offensive. It's the mark of a completely detached generation wherein, when something tragic happens our first response is either to update our social media status with our prayers (so that we still stay relevant when the focus is on the victims) or change our facebook pictures in what can only be described as the softest and shallowest show of support imagineable. Do you think the French feel any more reassured knowing that thousands of us changed our profile pictures (because facebook suggested we do?) I doubt it.
If you want to do something to show support, why not put your money where your mouth is and make a donation to the red cross, to doctors without borders or any of the french charities helping out in these times of emergency. But if all you are going to do is post a status you arent showing solidarity with anyone - you are simply trying to show everyone what a compassionate and great human being you are by means of hijacking the plight of others.

And don't get me started about Beirut, Baghdad, Kenya, or any of the other massacres that got 'overlooked'.
