    Hi,

Anybody ever experience white fluffy mould on fresh lime hempcrete that would be on the walls about 2 weeks?
Would it be normal during the drying out process?
The walls underneath are limestone and where clean and dry as required.

We had something similar on a stone wall... but it was on gypsum plaster.
I'm sure I read somewhere thats its not uncommon but should pass...

Mould on hempcrete is primarily due to insufficient ventilation during the drying stage. And so open the windows, doors and get fresh air flowing over the surface of the hempcrete.

The drying time depends on the thickness of the hempcrete and how wet it was when applied to the wall. At this time of the year it will also take longer due to the increased moisture in the ambient air.

I would also avoid the use of a dehumidifier as it can draw too much moisture from the walls in a short period of time.
