my little mixed grill has been in the vets for the last 3 days off food and drinking very little

she has been on the drip on and off over this time all bloods scans and xrays are clear last nite was the first time she hasn't gotten sick so if this continues up to this evening it looks like she will be coming home tg

vet thinks its just a bad dose of gastro her tonsils were also up a bit

has anybody else seen this recently or is just localised as I was speaking to another couple at the clinic this morning and their story was very similar to mine

by the way im in the limerick area

I've heard of a few around limerick getting this bad gastro dose alright, must be a bug or something around

There was a bug going around our park last month. Somebody was in the vets with their dog and they said that every dog who'd been in were all walked in our park. My two were bad with it for a few days.

home since Friday no vomiting or anything just lethargic and eating little bits drinking ok

but still off form how long do small dogs take to bounce back I have springers and they usually bounce back within a few days after stomach upsets

its hard to look at them being lethargic after sickness isnt it? If her bloods and xrays are all clear, then its just a matter of building her up hopefully. Great that shes drinking. You know how your tummy feels after a really bad bout - you lack energy and tummy is just sore... so maybe build her up with gentle tempting energy-providing foods like scrambled egg, boiled chicken? I would give her some probiotic plain yogurt too if she will take it - the thick greek style is good - help her good tummy bacteria get back to normal? Hope she is back to normal soon
