Why are so many people nowadays rude and inconsiderate

    I just don't understand today's society.

I mean, yesterday I was nearly killed by an aul fella trundling along the M50 in a 99D Starlet. I was nearly at my exit so naturally had to get from the fast lane to the slow one in time, and this idiot was so busy watching the traffic ahead of him that he nearly didn't swerve out of my way before I hit him. Then he glared at me as if I was the one who had done something wrong. :(

And this morning I was in Tesco and this aul granny in her 40s was in front of me at the self checkout. It must have taken her at least 3 minutes to swipe all her groceries through and pay and pack them. So of course I had to plonk my basket on the stand before she was finished and sigh loudly, or we'd have been there all day. Instead of apologising, she actually gave me a filthy look and told me I was 'very rude'

And last night, we were relaxing and listening to some music and the moaner next door came knocking on our door spouting crap about it being 2am and could we please turn it down. So we politely told him to f*ck off, we could do what we liked in our own house and nicely slammed the door in his face. Now he's going around giving out about us and saying we're 'anti social'. He's always harassing us. Last week it was the kids standing on his garden shed roof and throwing stones at his cat, the week before our friends blocking his driveway (where did he expect them to park, down the road somewhere??)

I mean, when I was a child we made as much noise as we liked, played football until 3am and the neighbours were fine about it.

Why are people nowadays so rude and intolerant

I often say, if you find yourself encountering more than a half-dozen or so assholes in an average day, you might want to look at your working definition of "asshole". :D

I can't believe people are accusing me of being the rude one

I mean yesterday I was late so I just nipped down a one way street. A Toyota Corolla was coming up against me and the driver started insisting that I should be the one to reverse because I was 'going in the wrong direction'. I just gave him the two fingers and mounted the pavement and drove around him. There were some kids playing hopscotch and they could have been killed because of his stubbornness.

    Well keep your chin up!
I find that the best way to deal with those idiots is not to engage at all with whatever they're blathering about, just roll your eyes and keep checking your phone for facebook updates untill they splutter out and piss off.

This thread is perfect idiot bait.

Surely there must be some way we can spring the trap so anyone who fails to get it/ doesn't bother reading it properly suddenly has their account closed?

Must set up a SJW trap next.

The school are nearly as bad. Last year some rude teacher was giving us daggers at the First Holy Communion because we were quietly minding our own business in the church, just chatting among ourselves and being polite enough to get up and go outside every time we wanted a smoke.

And now they've said that only two tickets per child are allowed for the nativity play. Some rubbish about there not being enough seats for everyone otherwise. I mean, last year it was fine. There was plenty of room for the fifteen of us . We just made sure to send my mam along early to put her bag and coat and scarf across the front two rows so everyone would know they were reserved, and we all slipped in quietly just after the play started.

Some people just look for things to get arsey about.

I'm 100% with you on this, my Johnny had the lead last year and we all went to see him but 8 of us couldn't get in, noticed some of the other kids in the play were doing eff all, surely they could be sent off to play in the carpark and make more room for adults?

Most of these want to be "friends with their kids"
Theres no such thing as friends.
Your a parent not a friend.

    Genuine question:
Is it really considered ok to have a chat and walk in and out in the middle of a religious ceremony/ sacrement?

    Celtic Tiger Syndrome............

I really noticed a shift in peoples behavior and attitude towards other during and after the boom!! Celtic Tiger may be gone but the snotty, I'm better than you attitude is still very much alive.

As for the toe rags who don't give a bollox well they have always been around but their getting much worse!

Nope. Regardless of the event/gathering, if its the done think to shut your trap and your attending their event then do it.
    E.G.
The cinema when the movie starts. **** up.
Religious gatherings regardless of your beliefs. Your attending their ceremony. **** up.
A martial arts gym. Most of them don't wear foot ware on the training area. Respect for the area, prevents trapesing dog **** onto the mats/ring and probably other reasons too. If you attend an event and are on the training area regardless of you being involved or not, then take off your shoes.

    Genuine question:
Is it really considered ok to have a chat and walk in and out in the middle of a religious ceremony/ sacrement?

Of course. It's also okay to:

    - stand up and keep blocking people's view of the altar with your ipad, even though the priest asked, at the start, that people don't do this

    - allow your toddler to scream and roar while a Holy Communion child is doing a reading or singing a hymn, so that their loving family can't hear them

    - leave your phone switched on at funerals.

I mean, it's only a church and those religious ceremonies don't mean anything to anyone anymore, and anyone who thinks they're meaningful is an eejit not deserving of any respect.

I have to admit if the OP had left it JUST at the Three Lane Interchange exit story I might have actually bought it myself. Not enough to reply to it - as I do not get into those kinds of petty arguments on here :p - but internally I would have bought it and taken the bait.

Second paragraph onwards though and intelligence caught up with the back of my eyes and I gave myself a mental kick up the rear.
